Lama House keeps its historic significance and beauty as we add modern amenities.
Preserving and restoring this charming historic property has been a priority for Diamond Mountain. Such a stunning transformation to behold! Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this two-story adobe ranch house was built in 1894 by a ranching family new to Arizona. Prior to its construction, the site was used to guard the nearby precious desert water source named Bear Springs (still a functioning water source!).
Newly outfitted with upgraded plumbing and septic, Lama House will continue in its current role as a spacious and comfortable home for guests and as a gathering place for visiting groups.
Thank you to all the donors and volunteers who have contributed to preserving this landmark home!
May you always be honored, respected, and be taken care of.
