items to bring

Our goal is your comfort during your stay at Diamond Mountain Retreat Center. Because we are located in the pristine nature of the Chiricahua Mountain foothills, 45 minutes from the nearest small town, it’s important to pack carefully and bring everything you think you may need. At the same time, we encourage you to pack lightly for ease of transport to/from your cottage.

For your comfort, we strongly recommend that all guests bring:

  • Flashlight/ Headlamp
  • Emergency contacts (Doctor’s info and two people we may contact in case of emergency)
  • Toiletries (Soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, lip balm, lotion, eye drops, feminine products, etc.)
  • Personal care (Vitamins, cold and headache medicines, throat lozenges)
  • Comfortable walking or hiking shoes
  • Sun protection (Sun glasses, sunscreen, and sun hat)
  • Layers (Temperatures daily range 30-40 degrees between sundown and midday)

Some guests also enjoy bringing:

  • Yoga mat
  • Meditation cushion
  • Slippers (for around your cottage)
  • Travel alarm clock (or meditation timer)
  • Earplugs and eye mask for sleeping
  • Journal and pens
  • Vitamins and medicines
  • Favorite snacks
  • Camera
  • Water bottle
  • Meditation shawl
  • Cash for donations

**** If you are attending the Lam Rim: Steps to Enlightenment 10-day Retreat, you may wish to bring cash to purchase items from the ACI bookstore and DMRC’s Cafecito Coffee Shop and Bake Sale fundraiser.  Although we can make change, it’s recommended to bring smalls bills. ****
