With the upcoming Three Year Retreat, there may be occasions when a person is hired to help with retreat cabin construction and chooses to live in the campground, in a tent, RV or yurt (if available). Currently, Diamond Mountain policy requires that anyone living in the campground volunteers an average of 20 hours per week. DM has decided to offer use of the campground to workers paid to help with the construction of Three Year Retreat cabins with the following conditions: Paid workers, including students who are paid workers, who are working on retreat cabins more than 20 hours a week, do not have to also complete 20 hours of volunteer work, and can stay in the campground provided they meet the 5 lay person vows and read and sign the Agreement of Release and Waiver of Liability form and a Medical Information Form. A weekly donation of $25.00 is suggested. To be clear, Diamond Mountain does not have plans or funding to hire paid workers. These guidelines refer to occasions when a Diamond Mountain student or faculty member who is building a retreat cabin at their own expense needs to hire workers to complete construction efficiently. All retreat cabins are funded by students and their sponsors, and donated to Diamond Mountain. |
