Diamond Mountain Retreat Center is proud to announce the opening of it’s state-of-the-art JeTsongkapaStudent Center and Kitchen. The mission style JeTsongkapa Student Center easily and comfortably serves groups up to 150. Guests have the choice to dine in our comfortably climate-controlled dining room, or take their plate outside to enjoy the fresh desert air and scenery. Our Spring and Fall ACI Lam Rim Retreats are fully catered by a professional kitchen crew led by an outstanding Tucson chef.
At the request of our Spiritual Director, Geshe Michael Roach, our kitchen offers nutritionally balanced and nourishing vegetarian/ vegan meals to enhance your retreat experience. Much of our menu naturally supports gluten-free and vegan diets. Please inform us before your arrival whether you fall into either of these categories so that we can best serve you. Our meals are served buffet style and we always have an array of Asian and Western options. Breakfast offerings can include cereals, toast, fresh fruits and berries, scrambled eggs, soup, congee, steamed buns and natural juices.
Lunch and dinner include three components; a deluxe salad bar with plenty of fresh vegetables and proteins, a Western-style vegan/ vegetarian entrée and an Asian-style vegan/ vegetarian entrée. We offer a full beverage service from teas and coffee to natural juices. March 2016 marked the debut of our newest feature – Cafecito Coffee Shop. Cafecito serves a variety of espresso and gourmet coffee drinks for purchase during special service times. Hot tea, nuts and fresh fruit are always available.
Additionally, each of our retreat cabins is fully-equipped with its own self-catering kitchen including a stove-top, refrigerator and kitchen sink. Some cabins have ovens, and if you prefer to cook with the sun, you can always request a solar oven.
